Image
To some people, urine is one of the a waste product that must be removed from our body system as soon as possible or else, there could be  a lot of danger. Do you think urine is waste, then you have every right  to your views and I have not right whatsoever to force or cajole you to accept any opinion to the contrary. Also, there are people out there who hold their  views that urine has many healthy benefits and cures many sicknesses and diseases. The views of these people should also be acknowledged and respected for these observations not even condemn their views without allowing them to explain their views . But, let me tell you a short story. Three months ago, a close friend had what the doctors described as a terminal disease. He spent fortunes in desperate search for cure and yet no healing in sight. The wife jumped from one hospital to the other in Lagos, Nigeria and there was no success. She visited churches within and outside Lagos and fasted for days so that God will heal the

What is Oxycodone? It is a semisynthetic drug made from thebaine, an opioid which is a constituent of persian poppy and a minor one of opium poppy. Oxycodone ends up inhibiting the brain cells that inhibit the dopamine secreting cells. This enhances the dopamine levels in our body. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter compound released by the nerve cells, in brain otherwise it acts as a Chemical messenger. Oxycodone ingestion in unprescribed amounts can cause disturbances in the neural pathways. It initiates the cycle of pleasure seeking thereby leading to addiction cultivation. Drug Abuse and the Gender Gap

Image
Usage rates for prescription drugs continue to rise with nearly 3 in 5 Americans taking prescription drugs including antidepressants and opioids. In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers found that prescription drug usage among people 20 and older had risen to 59 percent from 51 percent just a dozen years earlier and it was rising at a faster rate than ever before. During the same period, the percentage of people taking five or more prescription drugs nearly doubled, to 15 percent from 8 percent. Effects of Gender on Addiction It is no surprise then that the non-medical use of prescription drugs including painkillers, tranquilizers, and sedatives continue to be a growing problem in the United States. Statistics show men abuse prescription drugs at a higher rate than women, however, the gap between the genders is narrowing. Females age 12 to 17 are less likely to take abuse prescription drug and abuse and distribution is much higher in males o

Having the Talk With Your Kids About Drugs and Alcohol

Image
Cîroc? Check. Marijuana? Check. VIP Guest? Check. For today's hip, hot and wealthy teens, this pretty much sums up a fun night out on the town. Living in a celebrity-centric community, it's almost impossible to ensure that your teenager stays clear of drugs and alcohol. As your children get older, these "mood enhancers" naturally become more accessible within their social circles. As a concerned parent you may find yourself conducting routine checks of their car, bedroom, and even sniffing out their clothes for traces of drugs or alcohol; anything that you believe that will save them from spending their youthful days in a rehab and medical center. It helps to be proactive. However, rather than sneaking around their backs, it helps to be more vocal. Healthy communication undoubtedly is one of the best methods to ensure that your teenager chooses a drug-free path that will lead them to a successful future. Children who are not properly informed are likely to experiment

The benefits of exercise are vast not only for the body but also the mind. If you want to get the most out of your workouts there are a few key things that should be high on the priority list. Tip 1: Plan When you have a solid plan of action to reach your goals you are more likely to be successful. Hire an experienced coach or find a workout program on a reputable site. If you have a plan when you step into the gym your workouts will be more effective because you won't waste time trying to figure out what to do next. How to Go to a Gym If You're Shy

Image
I grew up as an only child in a fairly remote area of Colorado. And if that was not isolating enough, my dear mother home schooled me. So, if you think that you were shy as a kid and shy as an adult, to the point of not being able to join a gym because you're too timid, trust me that you're not alone. As I've matured, I've learned a lot about myself. And one of the most important lessons I've come to realize is that we have to do what is right for us, to follow our passions, and not let our worries about other people get in our way. And it is for this reason that being shy does not need to stop you from joining a gym. I've found that there are 3 steps to being able to start going to a gym to workout, even if you have social anxiety and think that you're much to shy to even go through the doorway. 1. To sign up, visit your local gym at an off time. Typically, this is mid-morning between 10 AM and 12 noon. But, if you're incredibly shy and don't want t

Working Out During Your Period: Is It Safe?

Image
If you let your periods be the reason to avoid workout, you must think about Olympic swimmer Fu Yuanhui who didn't let the cycle hamper her participation in the 2016 Games or Kiran Gandhi who finished the 26.2 miles London Marathon during her periods, that too without a tampon or pad. She bled freely with her tights covered with blood. If they can, why can't you? Usually, women don't feel like exercising during menstruation because of the cramps, heavy flow of blood and the sleepless nights that make them feel drained. During periods, each woman responds in her own way to the hormonal changes, but one should not stop doing the regular activities due to that. You should keep the workout according to the capacity of your body (which is of course different for every woman) and never let that time of the month hamper your fitness schedule. Is it safe to work out during periods? According to a famous celebrity fitness expert Deanne Panday, it is OK to do exercises (apart from fe
